Fairacres is a community in north London which caters for those with physical and visual disabilites. It is owned and managed by Jewish Blind & Disabled and pla have been working in depth with them to develop the program and the design  for a new fully wheelchair accessible environment.

Planning permission has been granted by London Borough of Barnet for the new building, comprising 40 one bedroom apartments and socialising space, alongside a retained late Georgian villa which is to be refurbished. The project comprises the demolition of the 1980’s buildings to the rear of the site with the new, extended accommodation which is designed at the forefront of accessible design, with all apartments as well as the common parts being fully wheelchair accessible.
